Beginning
Erin Jill Andrews was born in Lewiston, Maine on May 4th, 1978. Her parents, Steve and Paula Andrews, had another daughter, Kendra, whom was their youngest. The family eventually moved to Tampa so that her father could begin working for WFLA-TV. As an investigative journalist, Erin's dad was a six-time Emmy Award winner who had also taken home a medal from The Investigative Reporters and Editors Association in 1990. The latter was the nation's most coveted award for investigative journalism at the time.
Career
After attending Bloomingdale High School, Erin Andrews was a student at the University of Florida where she'd get her degree in Telecommunications in 2000. According to ESPN MediaZone's biography , Erin, while there, was a part of the Gator basketball dance team (1997-2000).
Upon graduating in 2001 she began her career as a freelance reporter with FSN Florida. Shortly afterwards she moved into the position of a Tampa Bay Lightning reporter, where she'd stay from 2001-2002. Andrews then joined Turner Sports, where she covered the Atlanta Braves and college football for TBS and Atlanta's NHL and NBA teams for Turner Sports South.
Erin Andrews joined ESPN in May of 2004 when she was hired to report on their NHL coverage. It was in fall of this year that Andrews' star really began to rise.
After being assigned as a sideline reporter for ESPN's College Football Saturdays, the young and attractive Erin had no problem connecting with the college crowd.
In 2005 she took on reporting for the ESPN College Football Thursday Primetime series. She was also assigned to Major League Baseball. In 2009 Erin could be seen broadcasting during the season-long Monday Night Baseball telecast.
