Jorge Rafael De Posada was born on August 17,1971 in Santurce, Puerto Rico. From a very young age, Jorge Posada showed a tremendous aptitude for sports and particularly for baseball. He attended the Alejandrino High School in San Juan, where he participated in basketball, volleyball, track, and baseball. As a baseball player in high school, he was named an All-Star player in the 1988-1989 season.

He went on to attend Calhoun Community College in Decatur, Alabama, where he received an Associate Degree. At Calhoun College, Jorge continued to develop his skills and was voted best hitter in 1990. A year later, he was named co-captain of the team, in addition to being selected to the All-Conference team. Jorge was drafted by the New York Yankees in 1991, where he began his professional career with the Oneonta Yankees, making his major league debut on September 4, 1995. In the year 2000, he became the starting catcher for the Yankees, a position that he has held ever since.

In 1999, Jorge married Laura Posada, an attorney from Puerto Rico. The couple has two children, Jorge Luis (age 8) and Paulina (age 5). Just ten days after birth, Jorge Luis was diagnosed with Craniosynostosis, a congenital birth defect characterized by the premature closure of the bones in the skull, and has endured numerous surgeries to correct the condition.

As a result, in the fall of 2000, the Posada family created The Jorge Posada Foundation to promote awareness about Craniosynostosis and provide emotional assistance to families with children affected by this condition through its Mentors Program. The organization provides grants to a number of partner medical centers to help underwrite a portion of the costs of initial surgeries and encourages further research of this medical condition. The Foundation also strives to create awareness through events and through funding other educational outreach efforts.

Jorge has received a number of awards on and off the field. In 2000, he received the Thurman Munson Award for his baseball accomplishments and philanthropic work in New York. From 2000 to 2003 he was awarded the Silver Slugger Award. He received the 2001 Milton Richman "You Gotta' Have Heart" Award by the New York Chapter of the BBWAA. He was also named one of the Diamond Dad’s Founding Fathers in 2003 and was nominated for a Roberto Clemente Award in 2005 and in 2007 was named one of the finalists. More recently, Jorge received the 2007 Bart Giamatti “Caring” Award from MLB’s Baseball Assistance Team. Jorge was also honored with the 2006 Mentor of the Year Award from Kids in Distressed Situations, Inc. and Fashion Delivers, and both Jorge and Laura further received the 2006 Puerto Rican Family Foundation Excellence Award for their commitment to children, especially those affected by Craniosynostosis.

Professionally, Jorge is currently enjoying the best years of his career. He is a five time World Champion – 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000, and 2009. In 2003 he tied Yogi Berra’s record for most home runs by a Yankee catcher (30), and ranked third in the American League Most Valuable Player selection. In 2004, Jorge was one of the team's leaders in home runs and RBIs, as well as being among the top of the list of the best American League baseball players.

He is the first Yankee to make six straight Opening-Day starts at catcher since Thurman Munson made 10 straight from 1970-79. In 2005, he recorded his 1,000th career hit with a seventh-inning double in 8/20 win at Chicago.

The eldest son of Martin Sheen and Janet Sheen, Emilio Estevez was born on May 12, 1962, in New York City. He lived on Manhattan's Upper West Side until his family relocated to Malibu in 1968. Before graduating from Santa Monica High School in 1980, Estevez had already had a small role as a messenger boy in Apocalypse Now (1979), that was ultimately cut from the film.

Though his father had opted to use the stage name "Sheen" over his more ethnic birth name "Estevez," Emilio chose to retain the family name, hoping to avoid riding his father's coattails. He also thought the double "E" set of initials was "pretty."

He appeared in a few TV movies, the first of which was Seventeen Going on Nowhere (1980) (TV), before making his big-screen debut opposite Matt Dillon in 1982's Tex (1982). A part in The Outsiders (1983) followed, and Estevez made his first big splash as the punk rocker Otto in the cult classic Repo Man (1984).

Originally cast as Bender (The Criminal) in the seminal John Hughes flick The Breakfast Club (1985), Estevez took the part of Andrew (The Athlete) instead after Hughes could find no one else to fill the role. Another ensemble film, St. Elmo's Fire (1985) came next. Then Estevez made his screen-writing debut with That Was Then... This Is Now (1985), a film in which he also starred.

He then starred in the Stephen King thriller Maximum Overdrive (1986), but the film was a failure. The ambitious young actor added directing to his palette with Wisdom (1987) in 1986, but the film was universally panned and struck out at the box office. Estevez quickly rebounded with hits like Stakeout (1987) and Young Guns (1988), as well as their subsequent sequels. He tried his hand at directing again with Men at Work (1990) before taking on one of his most famous roles as Coach Gordon Bombay in The Mighty Ducks (1992). The enormously popular Disney film spawned sequels and an NHL hockey team of the same name, but Estevez was interested in making weighter films.

He agreed to make a brief appearance in D3: The Mighty Ducks (1996) in exchange for Disney helping him finance and distribute another effort as actor-director, The War at Home (1996). Though smiled on by critics, The War at Home (1996) received a paltry distribution by Disney and thus went largely unseen. A devastated Estevez considered quitting the business but has ultimately continued to work in films, including a fourth effort as director and star, Rated X (2000) (TV), which co-starred brother Charlie Sheen and was a selection at the Sundance Film Festival. In 2006, Bobby (2006), a film about the assassination of Senator Robert F. Kennedy that Estevez wrote, directed, and acted in, premiered at the Venice Film Festival and received a seven-minute standing ovation.

There are reality TV faces, and then there are reality TV stars. Kristin Cavallari fell into the latter category, after her sizzling breakout role on MTV’s reality teen soap “Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County” (2004-05). After appearing on the first two seasons of the hit series, Cavallari transformed herself into a Hollywood “It girl,” showing up at star-studded events and award shows.

– a fictionalized drama series on Fox (2003- ) that had enjoyed a tremendous following and made stars of its cast, including Mischa Barton and Rachel Bilson.

MTV marketed “Laguna Beach” as a reality series where the characters and situations were real, but some critics and audiences wondered whether plotlines and conversations were actually scripted.

Synopsis
Kelly Clarkson was born on April 24, 1982 in Burleson, Texas. In 2002, she was the winner of the first season of "American Idol," the prize for which was a million-dollar RCA record contract.

Her first single "A Moment Like This," jumped from No. 52 to No. 1 on the Billboard charts and her first album earned two Grammy Awards. Clarkson continues to record and perform.

Early Life
Singer, songwriter. Born Kelly Brianne Clarkson on April 24, 1982 in Burleson, Texas. Clarkson graduated from Burleson High School in 2000, where she sang in the school choir. After graduation, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue a music career.

Supporting herself with numerous odd jobs, Clarkson made a few television appearances and eventually landed a job working as a female vocalist with songwriter Gerry Goffin. Unfortunately, a bout of bad luck discouraged her and she returned to Texas shortly thereafter. In 2002, a friend told her about a new talent search show on Fox called American Idol, and Clarkson became one of 10,000 contestants.

American Idol Winner
After grueling rounds of televised eliminations, and critical evaluations by judges Paula Abdul, and Randy Jackson, Simon CowellClarkson prevailed against Justin Guarini to become the first winner of the hit contest on September 4, 2002. Her official prize was a million-dollar RCA record contract; the unofficial prize a considerable amount of fame and notoriety.

The following month, her first single, "A Moment Like This," went from No. 52 to No. 1 on the Billboard charts. In 2003, she made her feature film debut in the forgettable From Justin to Kelly. Fortunately, her first album fared much better than her movie.

Thankful was a hit based in part because of the smash single, "Miss Independent." And Clarkson went on to establish herself as a leading rock performer with her second album, Breakaway (2004). The album spawned several big hits, including "Since U Been Gone," "Breakaway," " Behind These Hazel Eyes," and "Walk Away."

It also earned Clarkson two Grammy Awards in 2005: one for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance for "Since U Been Gone" and another for Best Pop Vocal Album - an award she shared with producer Clive Davis and engineer/mixer Serban Ghenea.

Career Difficulties
After selling millions of records, Clarkson was under a lot of pressure to keep the hits coming. But she wanted to try something different. Clarkson did not use professional songwriters as she had in the past and filled the record with songs that she co-wrote.

The result led to a clash with Clive Davis, over the album, My December (2007), after he suggested it needed to reworked. Davis expressed concern that there were no singles on the album and others indicated that its overall tone was too negative. But Clarkson refused to change what she considered to be a very personal recording.

Around this time, Clarkson experienced some career difficulties. She fired her management and canceled a planned concert tour for the summer of 2007. My December was released in late June of that year and initially had strong sales, but still the cloud from the Clarkson-Davis conflict hung over the project. She later expressed regret about the dispute, saying that it had been blown way out of proportion.

Clarkson also said that Davis "has been a key advisor and . . . an important force in my success. . . He has also given me respect by releasing my new album when he was not obligated to do so. "

Record-Breaking Success
In 2009 Clarkson released her fourth album, All I Ever Wanted. The first single off the album, "My Life Would Suck Without You," hit the airwaves in January 2009, shooting from No. 97 on the Billboard Hot 100 to No. 1. The jump broke the record of largest leap to the top spot.

This marked the second time Clarkson broke this record; in 2002 her American Idol single "A Moment Like This" catpulted from No. 52 to No. 1. The album also made it to No. 1 in the U.S., selling 255,000 copies in its first week.
